Timber’s Trek

A lone tree named Timber stood atop a breezy hill, where the wind sang and the stars twinkled brightly. Timber had grown all alone, unlike the other trees in the distant forests, with no other trees for company. Every day, he gazed at the distant hills and valleys, dreaming of making friends.

One night, under the glow of a full moon, Timber shared his longing with the moon. The wise and ancient moon cautioned him, “Dear Timber, trees are meant to stand still, to root deeply into the earth.” But Timber’s heart ached for companionship more than it yearned for the safety of standing still.

Driven by a dream, Timber did something truly remarkable—he gathered all his courage and, for the first time, uprooted his feet from the hill. With a creak and a groan, he began to move, slowly at first, then with growing confidence. Timber journeyed through meadows, across streams, and into the forests.

On his journey, he befriended the chattering birds, the graceful deer, the busy bees, and other trees that swayed joyously in the wind. Each friend shared stories and songs, filling Timber’s heart with boundless happiness. With every step, Timber discovered something new about the world and about himself.

Timber’s Trek is a tale of bravery and the pursuit of one’s dreams, reminding us of the importance of following our paths. Through Timber’s journey, children learn that sometimes, to find fulfilment and friendship, one must be willing to do the unexpected and break free from old restraints. This story celebrates the beauty of embracing individuality and the richness that comes from experiencing life’s diverse landscapes and creatures. Despite being told he couldn’t, Timber’s courage to walk teaches children that they, too, can define what is possible in their lives, exploring their passions and forming connections along the way.
